Adopt an Ambassador
We Do Things Differently.
Our rescue program is small and we're okay with that. We feel strongly that it is our responsibility to select the best dogs for our program to ensure that the dogs we adopt out will be Ambassadors - well-behaved members of the community, generating positive pit bull awareness and changing minds wherever they go. We believe in taking the time to get to know our dogs and their potential families to ensure that we make permanent, responsible placements. For this reason, we work exclusively with overburdened shelter partners in the DC Metro Area and require that two board members to personally meet every dog prior to pulling them into our program. As any seasoned rescuer will tell you, the shelter environment and transition to a foster home can be very stressful for dogs. After leaving the shelter, our dogs are given a critical two weeks to "decompress" prior to being taken to any adoption events. This is not only for their comfort, but also to ensure that we as a rescue know our dog's personality, likes, and dislikes before introducing them to you, your family, and the public. We also believe in setting our dogs up for success. Our Ambassadors spend a full 30 days with their foster family, showing off their personality and working on basic training before they join their new family. Also, if you choose to adopt from us, you will be required to enroll in a training class with your Ambassador within 90 days. |
