Volunteer Opportunities
People often think that if they can't foster or attend adoption events, that they can't volunteer. Absolutely not true! There are a ton of super important, behind the scenes, jobs that keep ABPR running smoothly! We need help with everything from graphic design to processing applications. Below is a sampling of various ways you can help. Have an idea that's not on the list? Email us!
Marketing and Public Relations
Graphic designers assist with flyers, handouts, promo items, etc. and writers to draft press releases, educational materials, and newsletters;
Marketing Managers handle vendor relations, the APBR website, social media outlets, and identify marketing opportunities; and

Fundraising
Fundraising is crucial to the success of our mission. Without it, we would not have the funds necessary to rescue and care for our Pit Bulls! We are always looking for volunteers willing to take the initiative and find new ways to raise money for APBR. Have a great idea? Let us know! Administrative One of the most critical aspects of our program is our focus on responsible and permanent adoptions. We are always in need of individuals to process foster and adoption applications, perform home visits, check references, and perform phone interviews. These individuals should be detail oriented and well organized. |
Grant Writing
Being a young organization, we need help securing grants from all sorts of organizations and government agencies. If you can assist (especially if you have grant
writing experience), we may be able to secure more funds to rescue more dogs.
Drivers
Drivers bring the dogs to adoption events, take them to the vet, or transport them to their foster homes.

Animal Care
We always need help with medical care, grooming, training, etc. Also, if you can't commit to fostering, but would be interested in dogsitting, we're always looking for people to watch the dogs for short periods of time while their foster parents are away! Adoption Events In order to ensure the success of our adoption events, we are always in need of event managers, handlers, and drivers. Foster Homes Fostering has a ripple effect. For every animal we place in a foster home, a space is created at the shelter for another dog to live another day. Fostering is a large responsibility and an application must be filed before a home may start taking fosters. Junior Volunteers Children under 18 may volunteer for certain assignments, as specified on the application, if they are accompanied by a parent. The parent must complete all volunteer requirements, including submission of an application and attendance at an orientation. |
